Many IoT Centric SoCs are still stuck on W̲i̲-F̲i̲ ̲4̲ ̲w̲i̲t̲h̲ ̲n̲o̲ ̲d̲u̲a̲l̲ ̲b̲a̲n̲d̲. The Maya-W2 Series from u-blox has Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2 + ZigBee + LE Audio. And it's based on a NXP chip.
All 4 variants in this series are based on the NXP61X Chip Series. Out of the 4 variants only one supports the ZigBee Protocol. All others still have Dual Band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, LE Audio.
Now Let's look at this specific chip's features:
👉 Wi-Fi Speeds up to 600 Mbit/s throughput & Supports MU-MIMO
👉 Secure Boot & Secure OTP
👉 High-Power Bluetooth: up to +20 dBm
👉 Industrial temperature range –40 °C to +85 °C
👉 Wi-Fi security: WPA3, WPA2, WAPI, AES
👉 Variants with PCB-antenna, U.FL connectors, and antenna pins
👉 Addition of the BLE Audio Standard is really great. I have covered the BLE Audio standard in these 2 posts earlier: https://lnkd.in/dtf--GJM
Ublox also provides an M.2 Card which integrates this chip. This can be used to easily test it with Compatible NXP i.MX evaluation and development boards.
The First Samples will be released in June, along with an Evaluation kit. Pricing & Mass Availability will be announced soon. Though you may try to contact them directly to get more details.
